Solo Jazz is the freest and most personal expression of Swing culture: you dance on your own or in a group, exploring rhythm, musicality, movement and improvisation. Its roots run deep in African-American rhythmic traditions and dances, the lifeblood from which Jazz music — and with it Swing culture — was born and grew. The Charleston, with its energy, driving rhythm and unmistakable character, is one of its most iconic expressions. A path to develop musicality, coordination and creativity, and to find your own way of interpreting music through the body.

Still have doubts?
Do I need to come with a partner?
No, absolutely not. In our courses we rotate constantly, so everyone dances with everyone. You can happily sign up on your own: it is actually the best way to learn and meet new people.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes you can move in and flat, smooth-soled shoes — sneakers are perfect. No special dancewear is needed: swing was born as a social dance, come as you are.
Can I start mid-year?
Yes. Beginner courses start several times a year, and for other levels our teachers will help you find the right class to join. Get in touch and we will find the best fit together.
How do I know which level is right for me?
If you have never danced swing, start from level 1. If you have previous experience, write to us or come to a free trial lesson: our teachers will point you to the right level.
